It keeps lighting on, shows the apple logo and then restarts all over again. It does this over and over again, nonstop! When i plug it into my computer its not even recognized, it just keeps restarting. I want to try and fix it myself, i already payed for the ipod, why should i pay for repair. Anyone out there that has any help please let me know.

go to the a local apple store (not internet, they usually have them in some malls), they dont charge you...not that i know of, its their fault it doesnt work, they fixed mine for free and they gave my sister a whole new one for free! so they probably will fix it for free...

At this point there's nothing you can do. Basically, the hard drive in your Nano died. Same thing happens to a computer when the hard drive dies. This is why I ALWAYS buy the extended warranty on this kind of item. Sorry, but you'll have to take it in.

I really have this problem lots because of my usb ports on my pc are jacked up yet i often basically plug it contained in the usb into the usb port and jiggle it till it comes on on my ipod and it somewhat works basically high-quality.

well, if you just got it, you should get insurance (i'm pretty sure they have it) then report the problem. also, if it keeps on, it should eventually run out of batteries, then try to plug it in again.
