That clicking sound from the dash are the different motor speed relays working to send the voltage down to the motor. Most times it is the motor at fault here. One quick way to determine this is to turn the ignition on with the blower turned to high speed and whack the motor with your hand. It should start and run fine. If it attempts to turn or turns with a noise, you have the problem. Replacing one of these is not too difficult. They are located in the footwell of your passenger area. You have to remove the glove box and some of the relays and wiring. There is a formable noise cover around the whole unit that has to be wiggled off. It is hooked in underneath so don't damage this. Take your time. Then with that extra knuckle in your fingers and some u-joint or flexible extension, remove all the screws from the motor. You have to wiggle the motor out from in between the HVAC plastic ducts and dash also. Good luck.

A good way to quickly check the blower motor. The blower motor, is located on the passengers side of the firewall, under the hood. The motor is about 4 inches across, but the flange that holds the motor, is about 8 inches. There is one wire going to the motor, you can unplug it, and run a jumper wire from the hot battery terminal, and touch the motor, where you unplugged it. If it doesn't run, its the motor, if it does run, there is a resister a few inches from it, that has 4 wire terminals, and two screws holding it in, they burn out, but usually will work on the lower, or highest speed. The motor, doesn't take too long to change.

It may have a dry heater motor bearing, it coul have something possibly preventing it from turning, such as a toothpick, pen, pencil or any thing that may have fallen in to the ducting from the dash,The high fan relay switch may be bad as it would sometimes run on every other fan speed except for the highest, as the highest position, when selected will potentially require the fan to operate at it's fullest potential speed as the a.c.pump will also cycle, when on the high fan, defrost position. It is also possible that the fan motor may have given up, if that is the case you would have to change it out. They are usually located on the upper right side of the passenger side of the firewall behind the glove compartment.
