It overheated due to bad head gasket, and replaced upper engine.
Still no compression.

Several years ago, I had a 4 cylinder Chevette. The car has around 100,000 miles on it and used little oil until the engine overheated. I drove the car over a muddy dirt road and the engine became coated with mud and caused it to overheat. The overheating caused the rings to lose tension, in turn lowering compression pressure and a vast increase in oil consumption.
YES, overheating of an engine will cause it to use oil, get less gas mileage and lose power.

a bad head gasket will allow oil to leak out. so yes the rings will eventually go bad but itll be due to the lack of oil. im not sure how you lost coolant from a head gasket. if possible get a compression tester from autozone or some other car store.

With your engine overheating it could have very easily caused your rings to go bad. No compression is a good sign that you will need to tear into the bottom too.

Entirely possible. Is it absolute zero compression, or just low? Put a gauge on it, and squirt some oil into the cylinder while testing. Whether and how much it improves gives a rough guestimate on the state of the rings.

What kind of car/engine? Unlikely that would damage the rings but it's possible. If it's an aluminum block and it overheated, it's a boat anchor. Throw it away and get a new one.

IF YOU HAVE ALUMINUM HEADS OVERHEATING WILL DAMAGE THEM RIGHT FAST.

yes it will if you had coolant in your oil.
