You don't need one, but the picture will be better.
Remenber that a HD ready is only partially HD. A full HD tv has 1080 lines, where a HD ready has about 730 lines.
If you plan to buy a HD tv, wait for the prices of the full HD sets to come down. At the moment a good one is about £1400 on hte net if you search though a site such as www.pricegrabber.co.uk or about £2000 if bought on the high street.

No, but you won't be able to see how the amazing graphics on the xbox 360. To get the best out of the xbox 360 you really need a HDTV, it doesn't have to be a big tv. Can't have the WOW factor on a standard tv.

no, but if u have one the graphics is 10 times better, all u need to do if its a normal tv is flick the scart to normal tv mode
