OK, i am a young 30, meaning i am single and have no children as of yet, and i have a DREAM job, Surveillance Supervisor, it pays good for where i am in my life.
now here is my question, if i tried school for nursing, and didn't like it, and dropped out, then i tried school for computer programming, but didn't like that either, and i dropped out, (i did good on grades but i didn't like them) should i try school again, perhaps something in management or business? i am also intrested in realestate,

i am at a cross road at this time, but i am not willing to just stay where i am, i could move up in the gaming industry or change altogether, i am sorta stuck in a rut,
school
or work
or....not sure

id canvas people that are actually in those jobs right now, and ask them how they like it, hours they work, challenges, perks, disadvantages, benefits, before you start taking classes. once you find out how they like it, and you find out what the job actually entails, then you can decide whether its a worthwhile endeavour before plunking any money into college coffers.

if you have a dream job, why would you give it up for something so spurious?

You say you aren't willing to stay where you are, but you need to realize that going to school is a ridiculous committment for someone who has to support herself. If you don't have a degree already, there are programs for returning students, but you will probably need to continue to work as well and changing your...financial appetites to that of a college student can be difficult.

You need a change in life, sure, but going back to school isn't this magic bullet. I think you need to pinpoint exactly WHY you dropped out of schools before, was it school you didn't like or the homework or the instructors or the hours?

Maybe what you need is to grow up. You say you are a "young" 30, maybe it is time for you to act your age.

You can never go wrong with an education. And if you have some college already, it probably won't take that long to get your degree. I would try perhaps business administration or maybe even human resources? I tried nursing as well, and didn't like it. I know it can be frustrating, but education is the best investment you can make!! Go for it! and Good Luck!

you say your job is your DREAM job so i'd suggest you stay doing this or something similar

going to school for a degree or more book experience is always a good thing. perhaps in nursing school and computer programming, you weren't being fulfilled. but, if the current job makes you happy and you feel schooling will help in your career, i'd say to go for it!

How much does your job pay, I mean will it support a family? could you put children through college and be able to retire? You should try school again. give it some thought and try to find something you really like or are really good at.

Sounds to me like you should continue thinking about it. You probably weren't sure the last 2 times you went to school either. Also if you don't even know what to go to school for then you should wait until somthing makes you say "that sounds like a great career".

The important thing is that you follow your heart. Perhaps, the next time that you decide on a career change you should do some research and fully understand what the career entails.

No one ever regrets going to college! Never. Have you ever heard anyone say, "I regret getting an education?"

Try your hand at different studies. See what fits you best. Even a two-year associate's degree will open doors. And who knows, you might meet your soulmate at school.

Take sometime to find something that you love to do. It does not necessarily have to be work. It just has to be something that you love to do. Once you find that you can find a way to make money at it. The happiest and most successful people are doing what they love. Money is a bi-product.
