I am working on a science fair experiment, and my teacher offered to create a solution for me. I went in, and she was too busy to help so now I am on my own. Is there a solution that I can create to resemble the acids in our stomach? I'm trying to figure out which advil dissolves the fastest.

You need hydrochloric acid, diluted to about 0.1 M. This is about 3.6 g pure HCl in 1 liter of water.

The above solution of a 0.1M HCl solution will match the pH of your stomach pretty closely. You might try adding some pepsin and/or rennin as added enzymes that break down some proteins to see if they would have any influence on the rate of dissolving advils.

Any carbonated soda drinks will do. Measure the pH first for your confirmatory test.
