You probably won't be able to tell somebody that you don't want to be their friend without hurting their feelings. The best thing in this case is to be honest with them, and just tell them why you don't think being in a friendship with them is the right decision for you (or for them).
Unfortunately, you will never walk away without hurting somebody's feelings or looking like a total ******. But if you believe its the best situation for you, you just have to tell yourself that you're doing the right thing.
I'm sorry that you feel like you must "lose" some of your friends, and I hope you're doing it for all the right reasons. Good luck.

Well in my opinion if they r your friends and they care about u there's no way around not hurting them period if you're not wanting to be friends with them. Just be as honest as possible and keep it real and they will understand. I had a situation like this about 6 months ago and I had to let her know because if I feel like I dont have a good friend on my side I cant surround myself with fake people and I had to be honest and hurt her in the process and we talk every now and then but she wasn't the kind of friend I wanted in my life. Honesty works and they respect u more for it

tell them WHY u don't want 2 be their friend anymore. that might help for u 2 explain why u don't "click" anymore. im sorry u dont want 2 be their friend, but if theres a good reason behind your choice, it might be ok. u could just not hang out as much. give it time. u could find that those people r ur best friends and why u ever questioned yourself about not being their friend. i hope this helps:)

Well, I don't see a way that it can be helped...not matter what you say or how you say it your friend will be hurt because you dont' want to be their friend anymore.
If you want (the cowards way) You can always do the don't answer the phone, or always be busy when the person calls...that way you'll have an excuse...but sooner or later if your friend gets the hint you are avoiding him/her then they are still going to get hurt...the best way is just to be honest about the "problem" that is causing you "not" to want to be his/her friend anymore...if you can't resolve it..then its best to part ways....

I can not imagine why you would want to give up all your friends unless they are all a very bad influence. And if this is the case just refuse to spend time with them and they will soon enough quite calling. Any thing you say will be taken the wrong way, so it is best just to fade away

I have had this problem many a time. Step one Poop your pants. Step two. Put your hand in it. Step three. Rub it in the face of the soon to be not friend and try and get one of those index finger tooth brush things going on. The more poop on the index finger the better. Get it in there nice and deep like. and Walla there you are. Also try to do this in a large group of people preferably at a church gathering.

If this person is a real frined then it won't matter what you say it is gonna hurt them. You need to atleast have the respect of giving the person your reason for not wanting to be friend's anymore.

You cant. Because if they are your friend, they are going to be hurt that for whatever reason you dont want to be considered their friend anymore.

I would just slowly stop calling them, asking them over, or calling them back it's a suttle way of telling them you don't want to be around them anymore. They'll barely even notice.

I really need space and want to be left alone, if you're my friend, you can try to understand that. I'm not trying to hurt you, this is just how I feel.
