Actually polls show that they didn't hate us before bush and that bush is the main reason they give to dislike us. You're facts are wrong.

I go by actual polls not vacation anecdotes.

and as one of their heros said America has never and will never
lose a war. Are you saying Europe hates the good old USA?
Noooooooooooooooo! They must be jealous that God's newly chosen are the only super power and live better.

Having lived in Europe for many years I'd have to disagree with you. I was always welcomed warmly pretty much anywhere in the 80s and 90s.

France was a partial exception. The younger generation weren't too crazy about Americans -- but that's kind of the French way of things so I just ignored the occasional rant. The older folks who remember the war days were a totally different story -- I was treated like royalty in gratitude for what my Dad's generation had done for them.

I still travel to Europe several times a year on business and the reception that I get as an American has changed dramatically over the past 6 years. A lot of sympathy shortly after 9/11 -- even from the French who are famously dismissive of pretty much everyone. And no arguments when we went into Afghanistan. But Iraq changed the dynamic completely.

So, if you haven't "Been there, done that," you don't have a clue.

(FYI, yeah, it's Bush. If I give a thumbs-up in response to his name, I get run out on a rail. If I give a thumbs-down, I'm welcomed warmly.)

Geez, Dude, try some English lessons and use the spell check, OK?

Perhaps you should read the conclussions of the book American Axis that provides information about what the Bush family was doing during WWII -

However, as for the scapegoat issue - this was previously how anti-semitism gained such a foothold throughout Europe.

Having been to Europe and openly American, I have never had a problem with anti-Americanism - if anything Americans can be much worse to European visitors.

Europeans see flag-waving, right-wing, Bible thumping Americans, and for the most part, they are right.

Europe has been there, done that, moving on. They have experienced every form of upheavel, revolution, political system, religion, and economic crisis, and we have much to learn from them.

Europe doesn't hate us, it is that we as Americans are unwilling to see things from a different perspective. I am sorry, not unwilling, but we REFUSE to see things differently.

America has good policies on paper, but Europeans live next to the countries we are at war with, and are torn between being our allies, going to war and debt, or not interveneing for fear of attacks by our enemies that are closer to them then us. It is fine for the US to send missles, but it will be Europe that will feel the shockwaves.

And I am tired of hearing anti-French remarks. Firstly, the French were right about Iraq,,, even Bush said he made a mistake. If we had payed closer attention to Europe, then perhaps we wouldn't have wasted billions of dollars and thousands of American lives on a pointless war.

What is the point of having a United Nations if America refuses its advice? Just because we put the most money in the UN, doesn't give us majority of voice, and acting that way is wholly unfair to the other countries.

America ignores Europe, and has no right to pass judgment. Uncouth American tourists visit Europe, and create a bad image of America, and ruin it for the cultured travellers who really want to soak up European culture.

European economics are more evolutionary advanced than America, because they have a blend of capitalism and socialism, whereas we have capitalism that cares little for its citizens.

Medicine in Europe is groundbreaking, the Scandanvian countries have some of the highest taxes, but have numerous government healthcare and education programs built in. So I see Europe as forward-thinking and people-driven.

And just look at Europeans themselves.
Europe has the world's most richest foods, dishes of naturally fatty foods like cheeses and meats, that would make any diet-guru cringe, yet Europeans are phenomenally less obese, and have far less heart disease than Americans, who constantly jump from one diet to the next, only to gain more weight in the end.

Europe's secret is whole foods, and that is why Europe was so up in arms at first about McDonalds and other fast food restuarants. They know the secret that a healthy weight comes from portion control and fresh whole foods, stuff that America makes up for in multi Vitamins.

Europe dislikes America's policies, because we put it in tight places sometimes, and expect far more than they can give. Europe is our ally, and we as Americans have to foster goodwill, not by flag-waving and misguided nationalism, (which scares countries like Germany) but by understanding.

So don't knock Europe, something you don't understand at all. You obviously get your information from biased sources.
I don't know everything about Europe, but I do know that if we choose to not to do both the small and big things, choose to not learn a little French when we visit, choose not to listen to the UN, choose not to let a little Europe rub off on us....

Then we will always be ignorant, and that is unnacceptable.

I think everyone does need a scapegoat to blame problems on, but because the United States is currently the superpower, people choose to blame us instead of accepting responsibility for their own actions.
That article is good evidence. Anyone who refuses to believe Europe is irresponsible in such aspects needs to start focusing on both sides of the story between the U.S. and Europe.

Yes we all hate you, its all we ever talk about,
GET REAL !
An American for most cases is just a Europeans cousin.
The only problem is, one calls from on high for freedom, while trying hard to deny the other one the same freedom.
We have the right to our opinion.
I'm just back from holiday in the States and my best memory is of the people there.
I still don't like the warmonger Bush.

Oh just stop with this silliness. Your guy Bush talks the talk about bringing democracy to countries, but walks the walk that only rapes them for their oil reserves, or can be turned into Christians for the glory of money sent to the 700 club.

Guess what...70% of proud Americans see right through his religious madness.

God bless them all!

Seriously, who really gives a damn what Europe thinks of us.
Their recent responses to terrorist attacks and riots in their own countries speaks volumes about these liberal retards.
When they need something, they'll be our friends again.
