for me i keep working here abroad to send money to my family. It's not easy away from my family but i need to sacrifice to give them a brighter future,if i just stay there in Philippines there's nothing awaits me there.Government don't care there people unlike her in US. There's a lot of people in Philippines that don't have job i don't want to be one of them. We Filipino's really want to help our family but if we just stay in our country nothing happened to us. We just kept dreaming.dream..dream..dream..We Filipino's are very hard working but the problem is we don't have enough job there in Philippines. No one wants to invest in our country because of the dirty politician. The government is so corrupt. There just thinking there self. That's why there's a lots of people wants to work abroad i don't blame them..We just want something happen in our life..

no to the first ? because i dont see any big improvement in everyday life of the ordinary filipinos.yes to the second ?,there are heaps of filipinos depended on the remittance of relatives overseas wether they are ofw or living abroad permanently.if there no filipino abroad then the philippines will surely suffer a lot of hardship and will never taste any of the good living like in the western world.yes to the last ?.what the heck im doing here in abroad if i could have a much better life in the philippines.most of the filipinos abroad wasn't born with silver spoon.most of us went out of the country not for our own good but for those we left in motherland so they can go on living without the hardship felt by others who dont have any relatives abroad.without remittance to the philippines ther will be no mega mall or those big mall.it will be like in some third world african countries who doesn't even know what is a shopping centre is.

I am now 50 years old, I have lived in the Philippines from birth till I was 24. To escape poverty I married a foreigner with the goal of helping my family: parents, siblings, relatives. I did just that as a result my siblings and their families have good lives some are overseas but some still in the Philippines. They children will never experience the poverish life I have had. I continue to remit back to Philippines as I have tworelatives who are nursing students. I think I will continue to remit as long as I live not because I have to but because I want to share a little of what I earn here in California.

Economic what? Well the corrupt govt official says the philippines economy went by blah blah blah...and its all blah blah blah. I would say they were just press releases, pogi points and face saving tactics. Look around, thought there are construction booms and indeed some improvements, but majority of the Filipinos are still way down. And if indeed there's prosperity, how come the number of Filipinos going out is still increasing? So, work abroad is still the major focus of the filipino workers.

There has been no prosperity here in 40 years. With the exception of several thousand rich people, everybody seems to be just making it.

As a foreigner in your beautiful land, I'll try to give you some advice. Pleeease!! If one store makes good profit, then fifty stores side by side, all selling exactly the same thing, will NOT make good profit. This goes for sabon or firework stores in Bulacan or fruit and flower stands here in Tagaytay. you need variety. :-(

Economic prosperity? Very funny. I used to be believe that Filipinos are lazy. Not anymore, there is lack of opportunity here. Only those who hold positions in the government are the ones who experience the economic prosperity you are tasking about.. A big thanks to our OFW!

Why do you always blame the government for almost everything. Apparently, not all Filipinos pay their taxes and yet they still complain. If y'all find time for a community service or volunteer in a worthy cause, then there'll be no problem. The problem is that y'all depend on the government. Can you do your share this time?

Was it not dangerous what you did, married a foreigner? There's a question as to their morality, did your marriage succeed?
