Wow... a lot of ignorance out there from the PC fan club. Where did you get the idea that BootCamp doesn't run Windows XP at full speed? That's entirely untrue. It does run Windows XP at full speed because it runs natively. My MacBook Pro runs Windows faster than any PC I've used, even new PCs. Again with this Mac market share myth... Macs don't have the security issues seen in Windows because of it's UNIX underpinnings. Gaming? BootCamp opens up the doors for any PC game. I enjoy games like Half-Life 2 and Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2. They are beautiful on a MacBook Pro. For the record, Apple did not steal anything. Apple was allowed by Xerox to take a look at the systems being developed at their Palo Alto Research Center. They weren't given any code. They only saw the systems, which they then created a system much different from anything at Xerox. Microsoft on the other hand was given Macintosh prototypes and was able to reverse engineer the Macintosh operating system. Know your history before spouting out such ignorant claims. True, Macs can be for people who are intimidated by technology, but they're also for people who live and breathe technology. The Macintosh can be as simple or complex as you want it to be. You can stick with the Finder, or you can use the underlying power of UNIX in the Terminal. XP systems rarely crash? Everyone knows that's a lie. No, not every great video editing application for the Mac has a PC counterpart. Macs CAN do anything a PC can do, and more. Macs using Intel processors does not make a Mac a PC clone. It only ads more flexibility to the Macintosh. There are still plenty of hardware differences that make the Macintosh superior to any PC. Features such as the Extensible Firmware Interface, MagSafe, iSight, Ambient Light Sensor and the Sudden Motion Sensor. Next time you want to slander the Mac, you'd better get some facts, not fiction.

So they can waste money on an expensive computer....you can get a way faster PC for the same amount of money....if you are into gaming(or whoever else uses the computer), stay away from Apple and Macintosh OS X ....and you are perfectly capable of watching music and listening to music on a PC...the majority of computer users on the planet use PCs...and if you need software you won't need to search for Macintosh versions...and sure you get virii on a PC, but with a good antivirus program, you can kill most, if not all of them....plus PCs are easier to upgrade...Macintosh is, to me, a living Betamax that just won't die.....OS X would probably get virii if there were enough of them, even though it is more stable being based on Unix...and the main reason for PC expandability is that you have the tower, not a built into the monitor thing...th only mac cheaper than the average PC is the mac mini, and you don't get a monitor, and i'm pretty sure you don't get a keyboard or a mouse either..and Boot Camp(which allows you to run windows and macintosh) doesn't run windows at full speed, and even so you won't be able to play games(if you or anyone else using it is into that), because Macintosh hardware is properiatery and not built the same way as pc hardware..and most games need pc hardware to work...and if macs were so kid friendly, they would have every game that the pc does...and anyway...macs are mostly used by arstically oreineted businesses that have the idea that macs are superior to pcs in that area, where all you need is some software and you're on your way...

Because They are the best. I recently threw away my PC for a Macbook. They are just easier, faster, and don't get viruses. I used to have to buy nortons to not get virus on windows. As for what you can do on them, Theres a lot. I use garageband a lot which is a music production software. it came free. you can also plug in anything and the mac would recognize it. you don't have to install like in windows. I can also Make and edit my own movies. I can also edit photos and make slide shows. Oh, and i tried out windows vista and its an exact copy of a mac. They copied everything off the mac. If this is'nt enough look at my source. This page is what convinced me of getting a mac.

obviously by the wording of your question, you are a troll,
but i'll answer anyway.
lets start w/what i do not do on my apple computer
1. i do not get virii (of course i'm careful on my windows machines so i rarely get them there either, but on my mac, i get no virii at all!)
2. i do not get spam (this is mostly due to the excellently trainable filters in the mail application)
3. i do not get to reinstall drivers/software/OS just because of some little unexplained quirk that makes things go wonky blue.
4. i do not worry about what sort of malware/adware/zombies may be lurking waiting for me to let my computer's guard down.

what do i do....
1. audio and video editing
2. browse the web
3. send and receive email
4. graphic manipulation
5. a few games (but that is what the PS2 and DS are for!)
6. write letters
7. run bit torrent for the sharing of live musical performances
8. manage an audio library of over 30 days worth of music (without repeats)
9. allow 3 children to run free within their own user areas
10. enjoy computing in style.

well we do everything that you can do on a pc + the music and all that stuff, but then my favorite part about having a mac is that you dont have to worry about getting viruses and what not bc 98% of all viruses only affect PCs. I also like the set up of a mac better then the pc set up.

You can do anything on a Mac that you'd do on a PC. Really...they're virtually the same thing, in particular now that PC's use Windows.

Personally, I have two problems with Macs.

First of all, there is not as much software written for Mac, as there is for PC. There's much more variety with PC software, which I appreciate.

Secondly, I found that the Mac OS was unstable, due to the way it processes virtual memory. Rebooting my system every few hours got old pretty quick.

its becuz the prices must be low or they carry osmething more than windows. But i tihnk windows is better becuz, i don't like apple computers/laptops because of the fact that one can only run limited amount of programs on it, softwares developers don't always port their software to the Apple machines and gaming on an apple computer is no good either. It's supprising for me to find out that some great amount of people love apple computers and i don't know why.
