A good drill to strengthen your thowing arm & improve your accuracy.......take a bucket of balls to the outfield & place a garbage can or paint bucket at 2nd base & home plate. Focus on putting your throw IN the bucket.....over & over.

Get a friend to practice with & it's more efficient & you can challenge/encourage each other.

You might also try watching some of the videos of the softball world series to see how the best college women play the game and try to duplicate their style & technique.

Consult your coach for pointers, most coaches are flattered by, & enjoy sharing their knowledge of the game.

Most important, YOU can do it!! Go out there and be focused, have fun, & you'll do fine. Good Luck!!

Well first the impression. You have to be confident, i mean give it up out there. When I tried out for my school's soccer team, not even the cold front that hit hosuton stopped me. I played better than before.
The trowing tip, just exersice on the overall. Back, both arms(just in case),and sliding its very simple; one leg folded under other.
good luck

Try your hardest and make it look like it. Show you're dedicated. This will make the coach see you will listen and work hard to do what he says. STRETCH!! When you're done throwing ice.....ice.......and.......ice. for sliding get some sliding shorts and pads and just have fun! Practice.....possibly use a weighted ball.......but only for about 5-7 min. (you can really hurt yourself).

Practice!!

Good Luck!

I normally find that to excel at being an OF, you need excellent hand-eye coordination. So practice like mad. Combine that with getting a good jump off the bat and you'll be fine

You should map out your team's schedule for the rest of the year. Include the pre-season, the in-season and the post-season in the entire calendar. Then divide them into more manageable pieces and create mini-schedules. As coaching young players is different from older players, just teach them the general idea of swinging the bat first before delving into the mechanics involved in it.
