Honey do the dems ever realize anything important?

Do you realize that this "new" plan is the 5th-FIFTH-time it's been done and IT HASN"T WORKED!!!!

We needed the troops PRIOR to the invasion and the White House knew this and choose to ignore it. Anyone who dared say anything different from the party line was removed. Those of us who kept telling everyone that the Iraq invasion was wrong, based a lot of our "hysterics" on facts. You know, those things that the Bush Administration refused to listen to.

What we're doing now is only exacerbating the problem. This entire new strategy is anything but. We were practicing this doctrine when I was there. Nothing changed.

When will you guys realize that Bush was wrong from the get go?

Do you realize that the troops they are pulling for this new "surge" are coming from Afghanistan? Do you know that the White House has been warned that the Taliban are readying for a major offensive and that the marines they are pulling are needed in Afghanistan?

Do you also realize that the Taliban controls 1/3 of Afghanstan now?

We're losing in Iraq and now we're going to lose Afghanistan.

That is a guess, and they have tried it before and failed miserably!

Your right-wing article states that: "When our soldiers go into Baghdad neighborhood's and chase out the terrorists, it would be a good thing to have enough troops to stay and stabilize the neighborhood so the rats cannot regroup. The President made it clear that we can win, that the Iraqi's have to take over, and this country will be an ally in the war on terror in a central location."

First, we are not after terrorist as there are none there! Rather we are getting involved directly in a civil war, which is exactly what we don't need!!

Bush says a lot of things, most untrue! Two thirds of the country does not believe him!

The article failed to mention Nixon, the cut and runner from Vietnam, as it also failed to mention Ronald Reagan who cut and ran from Lebanon after 242 Marines were killed by Hezbollah, who actually are terrorist!.

Why do you suppose they left that out?

And no they will not, even your man Bush said to expect it to be long, and we are going to have a lot of causality's, many who will be from the National Guard, not the Regular Army!!

It isn't just Democrats who object to the latest troop "surge." What about the dozen Republican senators and numerous Republican House members who also oppose Bush's latest folly? And let's not forget all those generals who say more American troops will not help the situation in Iraq.

ive been saying this since before the presidents speech, when everyone was speculating what he would say...

..but they want this president to fail so they can hang this on him, and the whole party, theyll do anything to get back into the oval office.

they realize deep down that this surge is a good plan, and has a chance to be successful, and i think that scares the hell out of them... they would be more credible after ALL THESE YEARS of whining and complaining, if theyd actually put forth a "better" or at least and alternative plan.

but they dont want to, because theyre to afraid their plan will fail and they dont want to take that chance, theyve had plenty of time to come up with another plan..but still i hear NOTHING.

its always the same from them.., remember when the president came up with the social security plan, of allowing people the OPTION ( yes OPTION.. nothing was mandatory about it) to invest some of there SS contributions in the stock market?

them dems went apeshit shooting it down and NEVER had an alternative plan,, theyre always the negative nancys without any guts to put something else forth. lest they look like fools.

the irony is, they look more foolish complaining all the time and never offering up their own plan.

how people can vote for and belong to this party ill never know...

they stand for NOTHING!

No, because that claim is nothing more than wishful thinking. Why should we trust Bush's analysis when he has repeatedly refused to heed the advice of military strategists IN IRAQ as well as the Iraq Study Group?

BS, 20k troops is a joke when it comes to urban warfare. We would need about 100k extra troops to win the war in Iraq. The only way to defeat urban warfare is to drown it.

Do Republicans realize that a troop surge just means more body bags coming home beginning the day the troop surge begins? Maybe that little fact doesn't matter that much to some people...

That's what Bush thinks and we all know how right he is on Iraq, right? "Mission accomplished" and all that. More troops will not get this pathetic Iraqi government to do what's right. All you have to do is look at the farce the Saddam hanging was to see that the civil war is red hot there.

By the way that link you run is nothing but a right wing pile of crap.

well... I hope your right... but I start to wonder after every time Bush and his friends says something... it turns out he was wrong about it...

I think a change in overall strategy is needed more than more troops... I think we need to set deadlines and have a plan of withdraw...

I fear that with no plan change, it's just going to be more of the same... just more troops...

The troop surge is a direct result of Bush not listening to his generals in the first place and relying on the utter ineptness of Rumsfeld.

If Bush would have listened to Powell from day 1 (who said go in with 300,000 troops) we would have been back a long time ago.

This is too little, too late, and will result in disaster.
