has a job in sales in which he makes $500 dollars every two weeks. I asked for the phone number for his job. I want his job however I'm afraid greed will come into play. I have a job in which I make less than $200 every two weeks. I don't want to become greedy, the sin will probably just make me feel guilty. What do you think?

Sounds like greed has already come into play along with jealousy. Why not see if the company he works for is hiring? Or see if you can find a sales position at another company?

Really analyze why you want the sales position. Is it for the money? If so, then you want the job for the wrong reasons. Money will not make you happy. Take some time to really decide what you want to do with your life and to figure out what God's calling is for you. Even talk with pastor if you need to. They are a great source of information and guidance.

I think that you need to do what you need to do in order to survive, that is your God given right. A person can't live on $200.00 per 2 weeks (probably not even on $500). If you feel you need it and at the same time you sincerely believe you are better fit to do the job and are more qualified then do it. Just because you want whats best for yourself that doesn't mean you are greedy you are just taking care of the life God gave you. If you are really worried about feeling guilty just look for other jobs before considering that job. I know secretarial and receptionist jobs usually pay well (about $600 to $700 per 2 weeks, starting with no experience). Anyways....good luck!
.........By the way........I'm not christian, I just thought I'd try to help. Sorry if that disappoints you.

I'm a Christian, $500 every two weeks as a primary source of income is poverty. Greed should not even be thought of in this situation. It is not a sin to live or feel the need to live comfortably. Now if you earn the money and spend it unwisely or throw it away on drugs, then it could be considered a sin. But, making money is not sinful- stated in both the new and old testament. new testament example- workers' master gave them coins to invest. worker who didn't invest was disowned, in other words, because he wasted god's gifts to him of talent and the will to live and better himself. Parable of the Three Servants. I'm sure someone else could give you a better example, but that's off the top of my head.

Sounds like you need to step back and take a deep breath. First of all, don't go after his job, find your own. Secondly, five hundred dollars every two isn't very much money. Not worth selling your own conscience for. If you want to make more money, improve yourself, don't do it at other peoples expense. If you cross the line and do underhanded things to get his job, then you have lowered yourself and started yourself in a spiral downfall. Have more pride in yourself than that.

There is nothing wrong with going to make more pay. That is not greed. Greed is when you falsely accuse him and get him fired for that job........greed is not sharing......greed is not tighthing to the church. But there is no problem with you advancing yourself......and there is no problem with God wanting to bless His children. If God wants you to have a job that pays that much, then you'll get it. Think about this, pray about it.....and we'll see in the long run. Best of luck to you.
