Obviously you have to take whatever subjects your school might require you to. Beyond that, unless you are particularly bad at math or science, I would recommend taking the most advanced courses possible in this area. It will not only make you smarter but it will also help greatly improve your opportunities for college. If there are any AP courses available at your level, I would recommend these courses as your grade in them will often be better than in a regular course, yet it will greatly boost the appearance of your transcript. Otherwise, focus on taking classes that play to your interests or future career plans. Foreign language is a good thing to follow as well, for any career.

What grade are you in? What are your choices?

Pick advanced courses. Sign up for a foreign language now. Pick electives related to what you want to do in college/ as a career.
