That's a huge load of bulls**t. I hope that changes soon, but I don't believe in our government to look out for the interest of it's people, but for their own personal gain.

In response to the answers guy's question, the 13 cowards who didn't feel this was important enough to vote on:
Boxer(CA)
Allard(CO)
Dodd(CT)
Biden(DE)
Inouye(HI)
Bayh(IN)
Harkin(IA)
Brownback(KA)
Coleman(MN)
Hagel(NE)
Domenici(NM)
Clinton(NY)
Tim Johnson(SD)
8 Democrats and 5 Republicans. You'll notice a few 2008 hopefuls on this list.
In my honest opinion, this amendment doesn't go far enough. It is, however, a step in the right direction.
Kerry Amdt. No. 1, As Modified; To amend title 5, United States Code, to deny Federal retirement benefits to individuals convicted of certain offenses, and for other purposes.

What can you expect from a group of lawyers, these are the same people that voted themselves a raise and rejected a minimum wage increase. I think your right it is cronism at its finest. Besides the ones that are left might have a step on going to prison and they might want to get theirs.

You are very kind. Shocking isn't the correct word. Disgusting, crooked, self-preservation of their unfair perks and to heck with the American taxpayers who have to pay for this folly. This is why many Americans are fed up with congress...Republican and Democrat power seekers.

The Senate just passed a bill 87-0 that strips convicted lawmakers of their pensions.
My question: Who were the 13 cowards who didn't show up to vote?

Calee, I had no idea this was happening and I am glad that its being brought to our attention. Yes, I think its a good example of cronism, and its also a good sign for the dems to get the pprocess rolling on this bill.

You have no credibility. If you can't even spell "stole" and think that President Bush "stold" the last election, you would do well to re-enroll in elementary school and buy a dictionary. The Supreme Court is the ultimate arbiter of our laws, and they ruled against the Liberal bedwetting loser for whom you voted. Get in the game.
