I'm washing a load of light clothes that could shrink. Should I set the washer to 'cold cold' or 'warm cold'?

Cold cold for everything (except towels and jeans and those grimy kitchen cloths)
cold water preserves colors, prevents shrinking and saves energy which saves money. the detergents made for cold water are great.

Remember too, if you are trying to get a particularly tough stain out, and you wash in warm or hot water, the stain will set. If you wash it in cold water, you have a second chance to pre treat and re wash and get the stain out.

You may want to wash delicates by hand especially if they are prone to shrinkage but not a whole load of clothes. Separate those that would easily shrink and wash by hand. The others by machine/delicate wash. Use cold water for both.

always cold-cold for clothes that might shrink but use the lowest setting on the dryer too as it is usually the problem in shrinkage or air dry the items

Cold-Cold. Be careful with your drying; that is where most shrinking occurs.
