We bought a wireless router so my daughter can access the internet in another room. Is there a way I can tell the Wireless Router to NOT broadcast to her wireless card, yet keep the internet connection on the main PC? thank you so much!

The network is secure via WEP and MAC address configs. What I want to do is be able to just turn off the broadcast wireless signal, but keep the connection to the main PC.

you can also limit the time of day that she uses the wireless connection. there is a setting in the router that will block one or many IP addresses form being able to access the Interent. you could set her Internet time from like 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm etc...

Edit:

all you have to do is log into the router and disable the wireless radio. she will not be able to connect after that

if the main pc is hard wired(ethernet cord to the router) you can go into the routers control panel and shut off the wireless signal. some popular ways to get into the control panel: linksys, d-link open a browser window and in the address bar type in http://192.168.0.1 netgear routers; type in routerlogin.net
most will ask for a username and password. usually username is admin and pass word is blank until you change it

Go to the router setup (usually http://192.168.0.1 in your web browser) and throw a password on the Wireless settings. She won't be able to get in without the password. You should do this regardless to add some protection to your PC anyway.
