Really don't know. I think the issue is how long will he find it fulfilling. It's not going to be a great challenge for him. Maybe he feels he has nothing left to achieve and now just wants to play for enjoyment. No offense intended.

The question is not how long Beckham will last in the MLS. The question is whether the MLS will be around for another 5 years.

Beckham will last another three years. After that, his body will start to deteriorate, and his overall skill level and fitness wil sharply decline. During the three years that he is playing well though, he will be among the top 5 scorers in the league due to the fact that he is one of the best soccer players in the world at taking free kicks.

Won't be that long. At least for like 2 years. He's getting older and his skills are deteriorating. No offense, i believe he's a great player but all the media attention is getting to him these days and he looks more like an actor or model than a football player like he used to be when he was younger in Manchester United.

I say 3 strong years with 2 multi-million dollar injury prone years. By then the MLS will have other great stars and hopefully great American talent.

I dont think he is gonna be a huge playmaker in the MLS to begin with but he will be effective for about 3 more years.

No more than two years...look at his performance in the WC....how can we forget him complaining about the heat in Germany(against Ecuador...I think).....it was 80 some degrees! It gets a lot hotter in LA...LOL.
The guys sucks....look how he has played for Madrid!....hahaha.

Oh yes... I'm sure Donavan will feel peachy playing next to a guy who is making 20 x's the amount he is.

We all know he can play, what we need are good teammates to finish his very precise passes. I think the Landon Donovan-Becks is a winning combination. I hope no ego will clash, tho.

It's going to be tough for him and possibly frustrating at times.

MLS Teams will key on him and specifically pay special attention in defending him. He will draw multiple defenders every time he gets the ball.

With that kind of defensive attention it will be hard for him to live up to the expectations of so many.

At that point things start to get rough in the media.

I wish him the best.
