Friendship when 2 people understand each other, appreciate them, and fully know them of what you need to know, like whether or not they consider you a friend or not, and whether or not you can fully trust them in something that do-able according to your friends' beliefs(such as religion or family or consensual values) and they would stop you from doing something(or make you do something, that's good[positive peer pressure]). They would be with you(if they're a true[or good] friend) when you really need them.

Friendship can be alot of things. Friendship is someone who you can always count on. someone you can call and tell your deepest secret or just tell a not so funny joke. Friendship is a every day no matter what is said or done kind of thing. You no this person is your back up reguardless but will also set you straight if you are going down the wrong path. Friendship is a life long thing.

I agree with everyone who has responded so far because a "true real" freind means so much. One thing I haven't read in the others answers is this: true friends don't gossip about each other behind the other ones back. In other words, you should be able to tell your bestest friend of all time something in confidence, and be assured your best friend does not repeat it under any circumstances, unless your life is truelly in danger, or you are supeanad to a court of law, and forced to tell something. Otherwise, the only purpose repeating what your best friend said must be somehow self serving and not in your best friends interest. Once "best friend" has started repeating things behind your back, that person is no longer trusted or considered to be "best friend". A true friend is someone you consider a "confidant", who keeps all that you say to themselves and does not repeat what you say to others behind your back.

A real friend tell you what you need to know and gives you good advice. If your friend only tells you what you want to hear and not what is good for you, even if you might not like it. Friend make sure of your well being.

I think a real friend is someone who will protect you from harm if they really care about you. A real friend will go out of their way to help you. They will do nice things for you and show respect for your friends and family.

I have found that true friendship is when two people can put up with each others quirks and neurotics, and still accept each other.
