I'm doing an article on the recent banning of super skinny models from the runway and I was wondering if this was true. I heard that Louis Vuitton uses fuller sized models, like ones who are sized 6 or 8, but still have nice figures. Is that true? If it is true, are there any other designer brands that do the same?

I've been hearing this about LV for quite some time. Like I think i started hearing it about 5 years ago. 5 years ago were thye using more normal size models.

This low BMI ban was in Madrid only. It does not affect the major fashion cities of New York, Paris or Milan.

Louis Vuitton does not use size 8 models. However size 4 or 6 has been common for years. Keep in mind these size 6's are 5'10 or taller, though. They will look much thinner than someone who is size 6 and 5'5.

Thin models are used because clothes hang better on them. This will never change.

Also, BMI is not a fair tool to judge the healthy weight of a 6' female. I am 6' and have a low BMI, however I am athletic and healthy. This ban will not catch on and will not have any affect on the overall industry.

Afraid not!

The ban was against women who did not have a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 18 or higher not small sizes. I'm a size 4 (at 5'4") and my BMI is 19.

It's not clothing size of the model that's taken into consideration (Please note that it never was!). It's BMI that's the issue. In other words the models that are skeletal maybe taken out because their BMI is 16 or lower (putting them at serious health risks).

The way around this is to maybe have have a few more 5'7 and 5'8 models (like Kate Moss) rather than 6' models, but they still fit the size 0 or 2 clothing...following? They still weigh less than "average". About 115 pounds yet they have sufficient BMI to pass the restrictions.

I herd that most of the modeling company's were getting "fuller" sized models cuz no one wants to see the super skinny anorexic things

yeah alot of places are now because the anorexic looking ones are sickly and dont look very healthy and they are not good role models for young girls to want to look like
