Thanks to all who replied. However, I do not believe the website is at fault. I think my PC is causing these errors. Has anyone else come across this, or better still, know how to eliminate these errors?

I am guessing the keyboard of the person who typed it doesn't have the British Pound symbol. Still there is a code they could enter in HTML that would give them the correct symbol.
If I could find my book I would tell you what is . Oh (£)
Ok they are lazy. (they meaning the website authors who should know better)

That happens because their is a conflict between your font style and the font style of the site, the pound character is not defined and therefore displays the ?.

They cant support the font er somthing

The font can't do the symbol...or they didn't do the ALT thing to make the symbol

Don't worry that will be replaced by the $ which will soon be replaced by the euro
