i am glad you asked this question. my wife went through this and did not have periods for nearly a year. the reason you have not had periods is because you are not ovulating. there are two reasons for no periods : pregnancy or annovulation. you can still get pregnant any time.. potentially.. as ovulation can come on very suddenly.
depending on your goals ( pregnancy achievement or birth control) you should definitely check out the book, "taking charge of your fertility" by toni weschler. this book will literally transform your life. it has been the only thing that has helped my wife and i.

yeah i was worried bou tnot having my period i just found out some women dont get it back for like 22 months diff ppl diff outcomes i havent had mine in 8 1/2 months if ur breastfeeding that could be it

Go to your doctor. You can still get pregant without a period. There could be many reasons for ammenorhea

Are you nursing the baby? That can delay return of the menses but WILL NOT prevent pregnancy - so if you don't want to get pregnant then you need to use protection.

ur baby is 10 months old and u havent had a period in 9.5 months there shouldnt be a problem if ur breast feeding when u breast feed u wont get a period

I had a similar problem and mine was just a hormone imbalance. Simply tell your OB-GYN that you haven't had one and they can prescribe the proper meds.
