White smoke is Coolant and or water steaming.

Blue is Oil burning.

Gray is Oil and Water.

Black is running Rich...

Blown Head Gasket...???? Most likely.

900.00 of tune up and Various repairs... Man I hate those people that rip customers off...

If you have a B2200 its Carburated and you just have a Emissions Control unit... AND will not give them any Codes for the running problem... Just what parts are not working. And NO parts store can reterive the code from this truck....

If its a California B2200i injected it has a PCU and ECM and parts store can get the Codes but will give false codes for every affected part... If the HeadGasket is blown, will start at fuel injectors, rich, and work its way to O2 sensor... Also Very rare engine.

First , $900 was a LOT too much unless they replaced some major components.
Second, a faulty engine control computer most times gives false codes showing other components are failing. Those other parts were probably replaced for no reason.
Third, I just looked and there are 9 (nine) different computers for your truck. Take the truck to an OReilly's (not Autozone) store and see if they can tell you which unit fits it. If so, then find out how much it costs. This is an exchange part, so they will need the old computer back.

white smoke at start up sounds like possible head damage and or blown head gasket.have you checked your oil to see if it is milky (brownish gunked up or whiteish).i had a '92 chevy which smoked sometimes especially if it sat. if the oil is normal looking check your radiator sometimes the oil will go there. if not make sure the water in the radiator isn't going down.if it is and you see no other signs of oil it is probably your headgasket.my chevy lost water through the exhaust but wouldn't overheat. if yours does the same that would b the prob. if the car smokes white and overheats it is most likely a head problem.the battery dieing could be from alot of different things.by tyhe way ive owned five mazda b2000's.
