i been with my boyfriend for 2 1/2 years and i just move to cali to live with him. before he would always come and visit and seemed fine with my cats. after moving in i noticed my cats were scared of him and wouldnt come out when he was home. he makes no attempt to be nice to them. they dont bother him at all. he wont even sleep with me cuz he dislike them. one day i wasnt home and my boyfriend was then he left to go to work. they wouldnt come out after he left and i knew some thing was wrong. i found both of them under my bed and they looked wet and beat up. i thought they might of eaten something bad. but i question my boyfriend if he did anything. he said no. i took them to the vet and she didnt know what to think she gave me meds for my cats and they got better. just recently i found out that my boyfriend has been abusing my cats when i am gone. i want to move back home but he is begging me to stay. he is in the marines and is getting help now. why would he do this behind my back?

If he can so easily do this to your cats, something you love, how long before he does this to you.

Even if he didn't like cats, he should still respect them, because you love them.

It sounds like a relationship you need to get out of.

I'm sorry, no one deserves that.

PLease feel free to drop me an email if you need to talk more.

He sounds like he needs help alright. So he doesn't like the cats. This does not give a license to abuse the poor things. Any one with a healthy attitude wouldn't do such a thing. He should have told you before you moved in he didn't like cats and didn't want them in the house. You said he is getting help now. Counseling of some kind? I hope so. Maybe you should consider moving back home anyway. At least until he gets better or over what is bothering him. Don't make him mad. He just might decide he don't like you too. Don't trust any one who will abuse a defenseless creature. Lucky for him you have cats instead of huge dogs.

Animal abuse of any kind is a precurser to other types of abuse. Remember - abuse can be verbal as well as physical. Has he been taking verbal slaps at you and you never really realized it? If he really was capable of a loving relationship he would be able to talk to you about the cat situation, not maliciously abuse them when you are not around. Remember, you are not dependent on him, but your animals and future children depend on you for care, shelter and protection. These cats must be terrified. If I dated a guy who ever did this and the cats looked "wet and beat up", well he wouldn't feel safe with me and we wouldn't be there another day. You know what the answer is already, you just need support and it looks like you are getting it here. Take action now and don't get sucked into the "I won't do it again syndrome" or else you'll find yourself on Jerry Springer or Dr. Phil.

i'm tremendously particular your boyfriend knew which you would be bringing your cat once you moved in. He ought to have plan forward for this. Locking your cat interior the basement could make him delinquent, depressed, and under pressure. various months of understanding your boyfriend and you moved in with him? How properly do you realize this guy? Declawing replaced right into a undesirable thought as properly. in case you declawed a human you arebasicallyy reducing off their finger suggestion. I advise chatting with your boyfriend returned, or taking your cat out of the basement. If he loves then you definitely he ought to take hypersensitive reaction drugs.

That ia the meanest thing a person could do. I feel really bad for your cats!! just think of all the torture they have been through! Thats just like if someone chased you through your house, because they wanted to beat you up, but you couldnt do anything about it. I know its none of my business, but i would leave your boyfriend. Please dont give up your pets or keep them living with your boyfriend!! Your poor little kitties want your comfort, and they probably want to go back home. You should go back home for your cats =]. If your boyfriend really loved you, he wouldnt do that to your cats.

Ditch the bastard. NOW. In the meantime, don't allow him to be alone w/ your kitties.
Your boyfriend sounds as though he has some serious mental issues. Anyone who harms a helpless animal is sick. What next? Kids? YOU??? Statistics show that people who abuse animals tend to also be abusive to people, either concurrently or later in life.
Before you leave him, make sure to give your loser boyfriend a swift kick in the nuts, and tell him to be a man and go pick on one of his fellow marines if he needs to beat up on someone. Hopefully they'll give him the ***-beating he needs.

He obviously has some sort of psychological problems. I would not stay in that environment, if I were you. People who abuse animals usually move on to abusing other people. If you decide to stay with him, consider finding a better home for your cats or find someplace else to leave them when you can't be there to supervise.

Hating cats is normal for some guys - abusing animal shows deep problems - get out and don't look back. You don't need to stay with him because he loves you. You will find others to love and be loved by.

I let my bf's know up front that if I ever have to choose, I will choose my pets. They usually think I'm joking. I reassure them that I am NOT.

Getting rid of your cats isnt' going to fix your bf's personality. Animal abusers are not good people. I'd dump him in a flash. I know it sounds harsh, but honestly... what kind of a guy would do that? Not one I'd want... that's for sure.

I'm sorry you had to go through that... and even sorrier that your cats did. Good luck to you.

Hook up a little spy cam, get some footage of him abusing your poor cats, have him arrested for animal cruelty, and move back home.
Get rid of him. If he is abusing your cats, it is probably just a matter of time before he starts abusing you!!
