It is not for us to understand why these things happen. The good people we know may die young while some of the most rotten live on.
The only thing that makes sense to me is that we all are on this earth for just a short amount of time. No one will ever get out of life alive. How we live that life determines the influence we have on people we meet. The amount of time we have here truly has little to do with what we deserve but only with the natural order of things.
You experienced the good in this man so you will never forget him for as long as you are on this earth. He no doubt had a lot of the same influence on others.
So it's not the number of years we spend here as much as how we spend the years we have. You feel bad for him of course but just think how fortunate you were to have known him. That is far more important that having to say goodbye.

so sorry about this, he did have a purpose in life, to save your mom from dying. u will always remember him and think of the thing he did for your mom that saved her. i would just feel devastated if this were happening to me, but we have no control over things, bad things happen to the good people as well as the bad ones. we just have to find something in all this that is good, like how he saved your mom from death. god bless
