Bodies by law must be cremated seperately. After cremation, they put your cremains into a machine to make sure any left over small bone parts are crushed. You still end up with some pebble sized lumps though.
After that, you are put into a temporary cremation container (usually looks like a small black plastic box) and taken back to the funeral home to be given back to your family.

There are some pretty naive people in this site if they think the families only get their loved ones' ashes.Yes you are cremated alone but the sharing out of the ashes comes later, you get the same amount a everyone else but it's not all your uncle Bert.I know someone who works at a crematorium.Crushing any left over bones is n't particularly nice either.

They don't cremate different bodies all in one go, they do it separately. The relatives get an urn with just the one persons ashes in, so they can scatter where they want. You wouldn't get a mixed lot.

You'll be dead. How are you going to know the difference? I'm pretty sure they cremate only one body at a time though, so no worries.

Let's be blunt!

Body burned at high temperature; leaves behind non-volatile matter such as metal implants and bone.

Metal components recovered; bones crushed to dust.

Ash is NOT ash, but crushed bone.

Here is what I heard...the expensive solid oak coffin and extremely expensive brass handles travel on a conveyor through some curtains to somber music. Two technicians unscrew the handles and tip the body into a pine casket and it is then burnt. Coffin and handles resold to next sucker.

Don't worry you will have your own little pyre. They will not mix you up with anybody else. It will be pure Little Honeybee in that Pot. Hope it doesn't happen for a long long time.

of course you won't, coz then they'd be giving some of your ashes to some unkown family, and yours would get pieces of you mixed with pieces of someone else... they wouldn't be YOUR ashes...don't worry, it'll just be you.
