Tape his nostrils shut, knee him in the gonads and make him turn over onto his side.

Sorry to hear about your problems there as snoring really bothers me as well!
I snore really badly and my iwfe tells me almost every night that my snoring is so bad that she can not sleep very well, we have been married for 18 years and she loves me alot!
My wife has tried all sorts of things to stop my snoring.
Snoring is a serious health issue and there is not one (1) single way that you can stop someone from snoring, it is a trial and error problem that you both will have to try, different things.
My wife has discovered that when she rolls me over on to my side then I stop snoring, she makes sure that I am not sleeping on my back (as I fall to sleep very fast and hold a record) so she is not sleeping by the time I have fallen into snoring.
Snoring usually is caused by loose skin in the inner throat that flaps against the throat while breathing.
Pharmacies sell also nasal strips that recently come out that opens the nasal air way and allows for breathing threw the nostrils instead of breathing threw the mouth (since thats where snoring derives in most cases).
You will need to help your close friend to learn how to breath threw his nostrils more often and stop breathing threw his mouth so much.
I also tried using a couple of air humidifiers in the room below my bed while sleeping to put moisture in the air and that helped.

They sell something called a "sound machine" that has a variety of sounds including White Noise which is just a bland sound sort of like the air conditioner running... Someone advised me to get one to drown out my husband's snoring and it has worked miracles! It takes a night or so to get used to but after that you'll sleep like a baby and not hear the snoring. Also, if your guy snores reeeeeally badly then he may need a sleep study to make sure he isn't having sleep apnea (where he stops breathing during the night).

My mom can't stand snoring either, and she buys those squishy orange earplugs to wear whenever her hubby hits the sac. His snore can be hear from the next floor, so this is understandable. You could also try buying your boyfriend these strips they have, they are placed across the bridge of the nose and claim to reduce snoring.

well
make sure he doesnt sleep on his back or it will get worse.

has he been drinking? my fella always snores if he has had a drink.

buy some earplugs and get him to wear breathe right strips.

or dump him.

snoring is a sign of heart problems so if he snores all the time he might want to be checked at the doctors.

Have him get a sleep study done. Chances are he has UAR, or Upper Airway Resistance. He may also have sleep apnea, which can be dangerous. There is treatment that can eliminate snoring and apnea he may be having. And insurance usually covers the test. You may also want to watch him sleep, and look for any pauses in his breathing. Those pauses mean he is not getting oxygen to his heart, brain and lungs!

u can buy nasal spray from the chemists, also, little strips that u stick on the bridge of his nose that help to open up the nasal passages. but if u need something to stop him right now, nudge (or kick, depending how much he's annoying u !) him till he turns over. i find my other half usually snores less when he's sleeping on his side. if all else fails, get yourself some earplugs !

Tell him that its irritating you. I know that he can't do anything about it, but just tell him. Do something together about it. I've heard somewhere that snoring is a sign from something. Go to a doctor. I'm sure there is a good and NOT scary therapy, so, do it, and your beauty-sleep will come back soon. ! Trust me, I know. :)

Does he need to lose weight? If he's overweight, he may find dropping a few extra pounds might help with the snoring problem.

There are a couple of things.
1. Hold his nose
2. Digg him in the ribs
3. Touch his genitls ---hehehe - you will get a good response if gentle!!!!!!
4. Shout at him to go to the sofa!

no. 3 my fave - works every time!
