well a more animated easier version is sim coaster which is fun cuz you get to build an amusement park and complete tasks at the same time. I also liked deep sea tycoon. I know you can do a search for tycoon games. There's one for a Cruise ship line, school tycoon, jail tycoon, and others. Hope this helps!!

There are tons of similar games - Mall Tycoon, School Tycoon, Prison Tycoon (yes really), etc - check out your local EB Games, Wal-Mart or Target.

The most recent game similar to RCT is Thrillville, released by LucasArts in October. This game is ten times better, and probably the best theme park simulator yet. Elements from many popular games are in there. There are loads of mini-games and everything is customized by you. From the cover alone, you'd think it was another kids' game, but it is so much more. The game is available on PS2, XBOX, and PSP.
