First you need to go into it with a positive attitude. If you take the attitude that you are going to have fun and learn the game it will be a worthwhile adventure, if you cant it would be a waste of your time. Practise is the most important part but take the time to study the game. If you can, sign up for any baseball camp around your town and pay close attention to what they teach. Concentrate on the basics, if you dont master the basics first there is little chance you will improve. If you can learn the mental parts of the game the physical parts will be easier to learn because you will understand why things are done the way they are. And dont give up. Sometimes a player will be not very good then all the sudden they make one big play and it all clicks. I have seen this happen many times coaching kids where that one play becomes the springboard to a huge improvement very quickly. When you practise do it with a purpose. Too many kids just throw the ball, swing the bat or whatever. Pick a part of the game you want to develop and do drills designed to improve only that particular thing. And stay focused on that task, once you get bored with it you will develop bad habits and make it even harder to learn. Camps or even one day baseball clinics can help you pick the things to work on and the drills to accomplish those goals.

This is the same quesiton I went through when i tried out for baseball. First of all, don't listen to those people who are yelling at you because of this question, there just not helping.

Alot of them are right though, you do have to practice wether your good or not, practice.

For practice, you try throwing to someone/something and step back about five meters each time untill you can barely reach your objective. That will help arm strength.

Since your saying you completely suck, they would prabably put in as second base since thats the position where everyone/thing is clostest to you.

Outfiedling isn't the only thing you have to practice on, batting is very important as well. If you have some brothers or sisters, i suggest you practice with them. Or go to a batting cage.

I went from .187 1 RBI and 13 errors in my first year as a second basemen. But now i am a starting pitcher (Lefty) and my record is 4-1, 47 SO, and my ERA is 1.65. (I Play for JV Team)

So you can see the improvement i've made. I also can't pitch a fastball so i focus on my curve balls and sliders. Gets them everytime.

But you got to remember, if this is the first sport you have ever played for a school team, the practice, and training/camp will be brutal. And i mean brutal!!!!. It will make you want to quit pending the shape you are in, but don't. Being good takes lots of heart and dedication, without that, you'll be wasting your time in sports.

Never give up, you have team members and coaches who will try to help you no matter how bad you are.

Hitting wise, you aren't ever going to catch up to everyone else so you need to learn how to lean into a pitch. As long as they aren't throwing 95 mph, you should be alright. Remember that your main concern is getting on base.

As far as defense goes, you need to learn how to play catcher so they can never take you off the field. A valuable catcher is second to none in terms of priority in little league baseball.

Make sure you know the rules of the game, and watch videos that will help you understand the game itself. Hustle and try to never be out of position or not moving. Then, just practice, practice, practice.

Then don't sign up if you aren't good. It won't be worth it and it will take up a lot of your time. Just keep watching it on t.v., and maybe try a different sport.

forget baseball and join basketball cuz baseball is really boring to watch and only fun if the ball comes near u and even then the ball comes near u maybe 6-7 times for game at best... basketball is a lot better unless ur on the bench and even so its fun to practice with friends and its a lot more of a team sport football is fun too its probably the ultimate team sport and also fun to play whether its offense or defense cuz theres always somthing to do
