I used to be reaally close to this friend.. but when junior high started.. I was making new friends and hanging out with them all the time. Now my other group of friends just think I ditch them all the time. And she always gives me dirty looks and trys to make me jealous and never say hi to me, when on the other hand I do. Im just trying to clear things up, like i didn't think it would be such a fuss making new friends, like sorry to say I kinda got sick of her. But sometime's she can be really nice to me and then if do one little thing like ignoring her and not even realizing it.. it will seem like she hates me. It's like i have to put all the effort into the relationship. What should I do?? about this. its so ridiculous!

You can't make someone be nice to you. If you are truly being nice and are not ignoring her on purpose, then it sounds like she is the one with the problem. You can either write her off completely, or you can tell her how you feel and tell her that you have other friends beside just her and she has to accept that! If she can't handle it, get away from her...her negativeness will just bring you down. The bottom line is be the best friend that you can be to ALL your friends and then you know it is not your fault.

dont worry. if this friend is truly a friend then she would not give you dirty looks or try to make you jealous. friendship is a two way relationship along with any other relationship - both people have to be putting in the effort as you cant have a relationship with only one person putting effort into it. Talk to her (if you want too) and tell her how you've been feeling with the situation and hopefuly this will create understanding and you could become good friends again! But if she doesn't want to be friends or can not tolerate you making new friends then shes not really a friend and you should try and move on from her.

I know what its like to be neglected and ditched by a friend for some other people. It hurts, think about if she was doing that to you. You wouldn't like it, TRUST ME I KNOW!! maybe you should make an effort to talk to her about it and spend more time with her, instead of getting frustrated and blowing her off more.

there is nothing wrong with making new friends and keeping your old ones too. maybe she might be a little jealous because she is not as outgoing as you. or maybe she just feels hurt. i do not know, but just try to talk to her nicely, or write her a note. remember two wrongs do not make a right.

You are getting older now, things will be changing. If your old friend doesn't change with you ,perhaps it's better to leave her behind. unfortunately, moving on in life often means leaving behind people from our past.
