You should gain between 25 and 35 pounds. If you are skinny 35. IF you are larger 25. I gained 50 pounds. My baby was healthy. The first 40 dropped off from breastfeeding but the last 10 is going no where.
You do not have to eat for two. While pregnant you should get 200- 300 more calories a day meaning 2100-2400. Its more the quality than quantity.

Some women don't gain an ounce for the first 3-4 months, but the body will catch up when it needs to. You will be suprised how quickly you will make up for a slow gaining 1st trimester! Just make every calorie count- eat healthy and exercise. At your age, you are gaining normally. In the next few weeks, the doctor should perform an ultrasound that will determine fetal growth. This will be a good time for him/her to discuss with you your weight gain. If the baby is thriving and right on target, you will be encouraged to do just what you are doing. If not, you will be told to increase your intake.
I had my first at 21 and really only gained about 7 pounds after losing quite a bit to sickness. She was a healthy 8 and a half pounder though, so the doctor never told me to worry. I just delivered my 3rd at age 31. With her I gained 35. If you gain it correctly ( on healthy foods) it will come off- I am 5 weeks postpartum and have already lost 25 of it. It was definitely easier at 21 though! Good luck and congratulations!

ok.. i've been pregnant 3 times.. the AVERAGE weight gain is between 30 and 40 pounds.. don't believe ppl when they tell you 20.. read the book "what to expect when you are expecting" it's the best book for new mothers.. and even mothers that have more than one child. at only 16 weeks and you are 130.. you are doing just fine.. between 6 and 9 months is when you will really gain.. just remember that gaining weight (not too much though ...over 40 is bad)... is great for the baby. Eat healthy, and don't stress so much about your weight.. you are having a baby.. get used to not having the perfect body anymore..

You should be fine as long as you are gaining some weight. I lost 15 pounds in the first ten weeks of pregnancy and I had no morning sickness. Now at 40 weeks I've only gained 15 pounds or so and my baby seems really healthy. Eat what you like and remember you aren't eating for two. Eat until you are full but don't over do it. Good luck.

just eat healthy and exercise. if there is a problem with your weight the doctor will tell you. There was a lady at the doctors that only gained 10 pounds through her entire pregnancy... and the baby is healthy- 6 pounds!

You've had it hard so far. Just enjoy being able to keep food down and eat when you are hungry. The doctor will reassure you and tell you what you need to do.
