Is it cheap to buy the authoring software?
The files are .MOV extensions, and you can bet on bearshare/limewire etc, Any .mov extension, is a video clip, un assotiated with the title, and pop ups. They are always roughly 7Mb, (usually the exact same, like 7,600,001Kb etc.)
A search query, eg "tupac", yields, "2pac fuk sex.mov 7.1Mb". in the top results.
ok the nets full of junk, but why the quick time player?
why are you almost guaranteed, any .mov file, is an unascociated clip with pop ups!

Sort of ignoring your question you download the MOV file, then using Ultra QuickTime Converter you can convert these MOV files to mpeg divx xvid, etc and play them without pop-ups, this prog is shareware, but if you know where to look, you'll find a serial or crack!

Phun.

bottom line- unless you pay for it, you shouldn't be guaranteed anything. mov extensions like any other movie file extension don't necessarily have to be what you want them to be when doing a search. It would be nice if people didn't rename things but when using the word free or trying to get something for free it's something to be expected.

and to answer your question, no, it is not cheap to buy the authoring software. if you buy the full version of quicktime that allows you to save files or reencode them as mov files or h264 then it'll cost you $30. I own it, and it's really not worth it. there are other codecs out there that allow for the same high quality movie but with better compression. eg. divx, and saving files as either mpeg or avi allows you to also edit them and manipulate them using other programs.
