It is possible to install 3 turbo chargers in 1 car.....however like it's been said the reasoning behind this would be....questionable.

Some high performance consumer cars out there, such as the porsche turbo, do have twin turbos, however anything beyond two is usually deemed unneccessary.....until you get into the super car category.

I guess if you wanted to pretend your car was a Baby Bugatti Veryon you could slap 3 turbochargers in there.....the Veryon afterall has four!

FYI, the 8 turbo chevy is by far the biggest mistake one could make. SO much lag and no need. more turbos does NOT equal more power.

ok, as far as three turbo's are concerned, to be honest, with the right plumbing of intake and exhaust, you could run any number of sequential turbos, OR, multiple turbos running off different cylinder banks. mechanically it's possible, and i believe that answers your question.

to give you a little back ground:

productions cars that run "twin turbo" are either V or boxer type engines using two equal turbos on different banks. the other would be inline engines using sequential turbos in order to get a more broad power band, with a small turbo kicking in early, and a larger turbo kicking in later.

during the groub B era of rally, cars ran superchargers and turbo chargers on the same engine to maximize powerband.

sure it's possible....but why? For any reasons that you could possibly drive it on the road for you can get all you need out of ONE turbo, any more is just more moving parts to break down...:(
