Brasso, Nevr Dull or Bright Boy. You could also get some Tarn-X. But I prefer to use Nevr Dull (brass cleaner) as this gets any metal you want ULTRA shiny. Also dont use Coke or lemon juice as it helps to corrode copper bad.

I have found that Texas Pete Hot Sauce works great. You just pour some in a bowl and put the coins in the sauce, then let them sit overnight. The next day, take them out and rinse them off and they'll be just like new.

Sometimes it may take a second TPHS soaking but for the most part it works the first time around.

A plain toothpaste, such as regular Crest (no whitening or tartar control, just the plain simple stuff) and a soft toothbrush will clean them efficiently and economically. It's from the bathroom, but it works wonders. Really old coins will most likely take a little time but this is safe, easy and cheap.

Plain old tabasco sauce, or you can use lemon juice. The acid in both will get the rust and gunk off of the coin.

Basically it says that if the coin has value...don't clean it at all.

If you do clean it, it depends what the coin is made out of. Read the article....it's pretty good.
