All good answers. If you get a paypal account, it keeps track of when and how much you bought something for. I had bought a program but supplied the person with the date and money and was able to download the program again.
Also, watch it with Paypal phising. You may get an email, stating: that someone has tried to access your account and then you need to go to your account on paypal to verify it. Well on the email, they send you if you click THEIR paypal it leads you to a PHONY PAYPAL site, where once you type in all your info, then try to access your account, the window may say Paypal cannot be access due to technical difficulties. You have just given your account info to a scammer. When you get an email, from paypal or anyone, access the account the LONG WAY. Type your URL in the search window, unless you have something like ROBOFORM. But the excuses vary as the scammer tries to con you on trying to make you access paypal from their Email.

Hundreds of thousands of people use paypal every day on ebay.
Ebay owns paypal and it is very safe.
It is the beast way to pay on ebay when you buy something.
They provide buyer protection.
Always use your credit card on ebay/paypal, that way if something does happen and paypal can't get your money back from a seller you can do a chargeback with your credit card company, even if it's a debit card with the visa/MC logo. Those count too.
Don't EVER send money orders to anyone. Too risky.
Don't know if you meant to use paypal for ebay or not because you can use paypal to send money for lots of different things but ebay is where it is used most.
So I threw in a little extra info in just in case.

I've been using Paypal for over five years now, and never once had a bad time with it. It makes paying for auctions go by so much more smoothly.

I have had over 600 PayPal transactions. Never a problem.

Pay Pal is great but beware of phishing emails that perport to be from Pay Pal. I get two a week and send them to spoof@paypal.com. They will let you know if the email is legit - it has NEVER been for me.

i have been using pay-pal for a few years now and haven't had a single issue with it thus far. i would recommend it to anyone that shops on the net especially if you are using eBay
