Your hard drive is sealed shut. Leave it that way.

Your hard drive is a sealed item, Don't open it. Your motherboard, on the other hand, if it has a fan, should be cleaned using compressed air with the fan. In fact, you should clean all fans (CPU fan, Case fans) with compressed air yearly. Also, I find Q-Tips (I know its copyrighted) useful.
