well to be honest one sentence on ghandi is like asking a harry potter fanatic to say the one thing they liked the best about ALL the books. Ghandi many things, the main thing would be he was a peace maker i think he was the president of south africa and he greatly influence Martin Luther King. He tried at all costs to keep the peace among the people.

Mahatmas Gandhi went on very long hunger strikes while incarcerated for peacefully waging struggles against the British, for basic human rights. But, in all actuality he was so much more than that! Peace, love and joy to you.

Wow!! Gandhi in a single scentence.. Only person who understood Gandhi and his work can answer this. .I know I am not right person but still I would be gald to try this..
"Gandhi taught people to respect their freedom.. and struggle for it by right way"..
His work and teachings were not limited to Indians.. He always insisted to fight for your rights.. and never loose self respect at any cost..
That's only Gandhi has to say..
"If you are not wrong.. never fear from anyone and you will never forced to say lie for the same...Speak truth.."
Thank You.. Bye., Take Care.. - Abhi

Ghandi is the proper spelling I believe. He was well educated outside of his native land, India, a lawyer, he returned to Indian and took up activism against the Brittish Government that ruled India as one of her colonies. His method of fighting this oppressive occupation is noted for his abstaining from any physical violence against the authorities and instead he rallied the people to war against them by non-violent civil disobediance, one thing he did was to make his own salt, the Brittish ruled over the sale of salt to all Indians and he assisted to cut off revenue to them by getting others to make their own from the sea water. Authorities responded against him and his following with force which because they did not return, was condemned by the vast majority of the world, even in Brittain favor in occupation dropped and the nation won its independance from the Colonial Brittish Authorities. He was a man of peace.
