A = 1/2h(B + b)

First: divide both sides by 1/2h...

A /(1/2h) = 1/2h(B + b) / 1/2h

A /(1/2h) = B + b

A(2)/h = B + b

2A/h = B + b

Sec: solve for "b" by isolating it on one side...subtract B from both sides...

2A/h - B = b

b = 2A/h - B
