Ok I swear I am not being a smartypants... but have you adjusted the volume settings on the speakers( controls actually found on speakers) themselves and adjusted the application settings (such as media player or Homtheater) If you have only adjusted master settings through computer properties a programs settings may be overrriding. Also if your cable from speakers is color coded at the tip make sure you have it plugged in to the computer input port that matches the color.

some computing device keyboard audio gadget are limited in volume so which you will no longer harm it. I propose to examine the quantity with headphones. and picture how the sound travels on your computing gadget and the achievable "volume faders": mp3 comfortable vol fader > mp3 comfortable vol EQ > mp3 comfortable vol autolimit > win wave vol > win aux vol > hardware vol fader > speaker cut back additionally examine if the linked audio gadget is plugged in wisely. in case you plug in a stereo jack incorrectly, than it makes a low volume, mono sound. examine cables, connectors, and so on. this could be a fifteen minute speedy examine. Do it two times and in case you fail to be certain the subject, turn to a expert, or purchase yet another audio card.

I suspect you have a laptop PC . This problem is quite common - all you need is a pair of external speakers or a pair of headphones. You will then get beautiful stero sound at a very high level.

Does your monitor have controls built-in that can also control volume, especially if your speakers are built in to the monitor.

what do you mean? like are you saying you can't hear anything? or its not as loud as you want it? because if you cant hear anything it could just be that you've blown out your speakers.
