As I'm sure you've figured out, he's not a muslim.
Whether or not I'd vote for him depends on the other choices. He's a great, eloquent, idealistic guy, but not very experienced. That said, an army of trained animals could do a better job than is currently being done, and the president never does everything alone anyway (or at least they're not supposed to). That's why they have a cabinet/administration.
I think Obama should run on someone else's ticket (I love HIllary, but I know plenty of people don't, so maybe the dems need someone with broader appeal), then he can consider a step up after a few years.

no, I probably won't vote for Obama. I value my late night comedy routines making fun of the president, and he isn't seedy, stupid or corrupt enough to be funny.
Give him some time to get into some scandals (i.e. "experience"), then I'll consider it. For now he's too much of a political virgin to be funny.
for the second question: I've never voted for a president that shared my religious convictions anyway, so what difference would it make? I'm not anglican, no baptist, no catholic...
If I ever meet a politician with any convictions whatsoever, even if they are religious, I'd be impressed.

He is a member of the United Church of Christ. He is a Christian. I don't fall into that Obama hype and I think he is politically empty but you're going to have to come up with better reasons. I wouldn't vote for him becuase he is too young and inexperienced, he will crack down under national media pressure in the primaries.

he is not muslim, don't assume things like that based on someone's name. but having a muslim for a president probaly wouldn't be the worst thing for this country because muslims are supposed to be equal amongst themselves and with a muslim for a president, we could probaly form some sort of friendship with the muslim countries of the world.
He wouldn't be any worse a president than the one that we've had for the last 8 years

Yeah I would vote for Obama. Although I'm somewhat Conservative I think he is the only left head I would vote for. The GOP doesn't have anyone that fits my taste at the time and hopefully no one will even think about voting for Hillary, PLEASE NO. As the other writer wrote Obama is not a Muslim despite the name and his light skin.

What is wrong with you people?
"I'm not voting for Obama, cause his name sounds Muslim, so he MUST be a follower of Islam!"
Do some research, he's a member of the United Church of Christ.

No on both questions. Especially at this time with the problems in Iraq and with other countries with large Muslim populations. The United States was founded on Christian principles and the majority of Americans are not educated in Muslim beliefs and as has been the case for many years, people are afraid of the unknown.

Religion should be kept out of politics and government period.
NO, I won't support nor vote for Obama or any other candidate that seeks the office of President of the United States.
Why? Because i'm going to vote for myself, I'm running for president of the United States in 2008.

Obasama is not Muslim. He is also unqualified to be in the executive seat!
He has a background of a Law degree specializing in Constitutional Law! How in the world does that combined with almost no experience, make him able to head up our military and Business community?
He should be trying instead to become a Supreme Court Justice-after he grows up!

Don't even bother voting. All presidents are elected by THIS secret and evil group that's been in control of everything for far too long!...
