Yes, I have a friend who broke up with her fiancee (for good reason, he'd practically cry if she went out without him and thought that if she was wearing a g-string it meant she was going to go and cheat on him?!) and he messaged her, e-mailed her, called her mum, e-mailed her parents, messaged her friends, put photos of the two of them in the letterbox at her new house and generally acted like a stalker for months afterwards. It's been three years now ans she still gets random e-mails saying he thinks they can work it out (despite the fact they're both with other people).

Yep all the time. The biggest example is my stepmother. One time I had a cold and there were no tissues in the house. So I had to use toilet tissue. She kept saying I was using it to stuff my bra. She gave me a roll of toilet tissue for every birthday, Christmas, and every other gift giving occasion, for 12 years. Finally I gave her some of that herbal P.M.S. tea for her birthday. She finally stopped.
