My brother and I dropped a small-block Chevy V8 in a Datsun 240Z about 15 years ago. You need custom mounts, custom exhaust, the transmission needs to fit, you probably would need custom linkages, and then custom driveshaft. He went through 2 differentials before getting rid of the car.
The rear differential and and half shafts probably aren't built to handle the torque, so you'll need to beef them up. Custom suspension will be needed too.
The end result will be a car that is far from ideally balanced and designed, and all that work doesn't make sense when you can just buy a Z06.
If you want 500+ hp in those cars, go with turbos, superchargers, or Nitrous. There are plenty of tuners that have spent the R&D time to perfect those options.

particular you could. in case you have the time or the money, that's finished. do no longer hear to the doubting fools above. If a fifty 8 VW trojan horse can run a LS-6, so can a sprint one Mercury. With tips from a plasma cutter and a mig welder you could adjust the engine compartment to make it in positive condition. i might advise employing the vette transmission additionally. If the Tracer is fwd, you will ought to make it rwd and deploy a rear differential. No massive deal in case you have skills.

no; not stock at least. u would have to do a ton of customization. all the cars u list are smaller cars, with 4 or 6-cylinder engines. since the cars themselves are small, they have very small engine compartments, fitting of their small engines. they lack excess room in under hood, and definitely not enough for a massive 427 v-8
plus you would have to upgrade transmission as well and upgrade the whole drivetrain, supsension and frame to be able to handle that power.

Lots of modification would be neccessary. Thousands of dollars worth. First, the car would have to be a rear wheel drive car, then, the motor mounts wouldn't work, not to mention the computer system having to have a special program written just to work. You would be better off modifing the stock engine in any of those cars. Turbo, supercharger, etc.

dont know why youd want to do a fool thing like that. but it could fit. youd be adding a lot of weight and youd have to change out a lot of the other parts for them to be able to accept the power of the z06 block. good luck.

If you work for Monster Garage yes!!!!!! You can make anything fix if you try hard enough. I've seen a new mini with the vette engine in it.
