in the back the taillight is cracked and i can see the bulb cracked. i bought a bulb but am having trouble putting it in the proper slot. once i get this bulb in, will this fix my problem??

if previous bulb is broken, then replacing with new one most likely will fix problem. if replacing with new bulb does not fix it, either check fuse and/or relay. Or it could be a short or something wrong with the wiring. if so, the entire wiring system for the turns signals would have to be checked from the turn signal switch on your steering column all the way to the actual bulb in question. so i would bring it to your dealership or a shop to have them look at it.

Of course replace the bulb....but clean the socket with a electrical contact cleaner, also if then it will not work it could be " Ground " correction as often that is an automotive light problem and since your lens was cracked then moisture could well have gotten in, and rust will prevent proper ground to the light.

In most cases, a bulb will correct that problem. Try a little bit of WD40 to clean the area let it dry, then attempt installing bulb carefully.

it should. if not then change the fuse. if that doesn't help, the wiring probably got jacked up. youd have to take it in and have it inspected at this point.
