LG stands for "Life's Good" ( well that's what the commercials tell you!)
actually LG stands for Lucky Goldstar

LG is a Korean electronics company started in 1958 as GoldStar Named changed to LG after mergers and acquisitions like Zenith in 1995. Life's Good is just the slogan for LGE.

It used to stand for Lucky Goldstar. The company recently changed the name to just LG so it doesn't stand for anything any more. They're trying to make their slogan, "Life's Good," so that people forget about the crappy Goldstar products they used to release. LG doesn't just release phones, but appliances, tvs, and other electronics as well.
