Was John Coffey in The Green Mile the last one executed in that electric chair?

I heard somewhere that no one was executed in that chair after John Coffey, but I didn't see in the movie where anyone said that. Hanks' character said he and Brutal no longer worked there after that, but does anyone know if they stopped using that chair, and if so, what part of the movie did they say it?

I didn't read the book so, maybe, they said something in the novel that was not said in the movie but you're right about they saying that Hanks' character and Morse's characters no longer working there after that, how they switched to working with juveniles.

I think some people assumed they quit using the electric chair since the wiring was fried with all the fireworks but, c'mon, let's face it . I doubt that state outlawed capital punishment and stopped executing people. They probably just fixed the chair or replaced it with another one but they didn't stop using the electric chair as a means of execution.

Just three people get executed on the electric chair in the movie. First was the Indian guy, second - the one who had a mice and last one was Michael Clarke Duncan(John Coffey).

After his execution they resigned from the job but nowhere in the movie do they tell anything about the chair or the execution in later times.

John Coffey was the last one electricuted in the movie,,,,they did mentioned thay they changed that place into something else...he was the last man to walk on the Green Mile...

They said they stopped using that chair at the end of the movie when he's explaining what happened.
