I always thought Afro-Caribbean meant Caribbean (one R, two Bs !) of African descent, i.e. Black Caribbean. Since the West Indian Cricket Team is made up of people of all sorts of origins (mostly African and Asian, though) it would be inappropriate to call it the Afro Caribbean Cricket Team.

A more pertinent question is: Why do we still use the old misnomer 'West Indies' ? The European explorers of the 15th century thought they had discovered a western route to the Indies and, when they realised their mistake, renamed the islands 'West Indies'. Perhaps we should think seriously about abandoning this outdated term.
