It's not possible. Microsoft specifically disabled the ability to join a domain with Media Center Addition. Further, you can't even upgrade to XP Pro. You have to do a complete new install.

Can't be done. Media Center Edition isn't supported in a domain environment. Sorry.

If you need to use a MCE box in a domain environment you can change the workgroup name to match the NETBIOS name of the domain. When you access domain resources you'll be prompted for credentials the first time. Enter the user name in one of the following formats:

DOMAIN\UserID (DOMAIN is the NETBIOS name of the domain)

UserID@Domain.com (Domain.com is the DNS name of the domain.)

Then type your domain password in and you should be good to go.
