Vince Lombardi was a no-nonsense, hard-nosed, kick-*** coach who demanded excellence of his coaches and players. "Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing," was his motto. He turned the Green Bay Packers into a world class team, beating the Dallas Cowboys two consecutive years for the NFL championship (before the Super Bowl) in exciting and dramatic fashion. He won the very first Super Bowl ('tho it wasn't called that at the time) and that commemorates his legendary status.
