Although I'm not particularly interested in trains (or cars) the subject of train spotting came up in work, and the general opinion was that trainspotters were saddos, but anyone interested in cars was OK. Why? Most trains are a damn sight more powerful than cars, surely a loco pulling 500 tons at 100mph is far more impressive than a car weighing a ton or so doing 100mph? Very strange.

Why indeed should anyone be classed as a "freak" because of their hobby? As the saying goes,"whatever rings your bell"

There is nothing wrong with people interested in trains, those people are just sad themselves. Just because they don't like trains they think it is sad.
