If I respected someone before I knew they were gay, I would respect them after I found out that they were. I do not believe that people "turn" gay---it is not a lifestyle choice. Then there are those who are bisexual.

People don't just "turn" gay. If someone comes out and shares the fact that they're gay, you should respect the courage that it took them to reveal that fact. Whatever their sexual preference is - that's their business.

they don't just turn gay, they were always gay, maybe they just let you in on it. people are what they are, and we need to mind our business. Yes if he or she was gay and as long as that person was a good person i would respect them.

If I respected them BEFORE they came out, I'd certainly have no reason to not respect them after they did.
Respect is earned, and sexual orientation doesn't dictate whether I respect someone or not.
